It looks like we’ll be moving across the country in a couple of months. We should have enough time to finish the current cycle (Try #5) and do one more (if needed) at our current fertility clinic. However, if one of these two tries doesn’t work and we have to move on to a seventh try, then we’ll need to go to a fertility clinic near our new home.
We spent a week near where we’ll be living so we could find a rental house before the big move. While we were in the area, we took a free tour of a near-by fertility center. We only got a tour, and didn’t have an actual consultation with a doctor since we don’t know yet if we’ll actually need their services. We just wanted to get an idea of what is available in the area so we don’t have to miss more than one cycle (we’re already going to potentially miss one month’s cycle due to the timing of the move)…if we’re not pregnant by then, of course.
The place was very nice and new. Small, but nice. They say that being a small company allows them to give each patient more individualized attention. We happened to run into one of the doctors as he was coming out of a meeting, and he smiled and shook our hands; he was very warm. The other doctor who works there used to work at a different fertility center that is also near our new home. I guess we’ll have to see if we even need to go to a fertility center after the move before we can make any final decisions.
