Even though the cycle before this one was abnormally long (56 days), all of her bloodwork on her 3-day labs was normal. So, we decided to do our first insemination this cycle! Only three months behind our initial goal of starting in September, but I guess this is only the start of the flexibility needed once we actually have a child.
We did the natural intrauterine insemination (IUI) with our local LGBT-friendly healthcare provider. They give you the choice to do one or two inseminations per cycle. Because Molly was coming off of an abnormally-long cycle last month, we chose to do only one insemination this round. We used one vial of Donor #1, giving us five vials left.
It feels really good to have actually started the process that could actually end in pregnancy. And so begins the two week wait until the pregnancy test.
